Diagnostics
This is a click test that measures clicks per second, a CPS test with one difference: it counts every press, and then it tells you which ones your finger actually made. A worn switch fires twice for one press, and on an ordinary cps counter those phantom presses inflate the score. Here every run is screened with the same 25 millisecond bounce floor the button test uses, measured on real hardware, so the number you get is finger speed, with the switch's contribution shown separately instead of silently mixed in.
How the test works
Pick a duration and a button, or keep the defaults: 5 seconds, left button. The timer starts on your first click, not when the page decides, so a slow reaction does not eat into your run. During the run the box shows your click count, a live rate over the last second, and the time remaining. When time is up you get the result, and for a moment the box ignores clicks, because a fast hand does not stop on a dime and the tail of your burst should not wipe the result you are reading. Pause for a beat, and the next click starts a fresh run, because a click speed test is really a series of attempts.
The 1 second run is a burst check, the 10 second click test is the endurance version most leaderboards use, and 5 seconds is the honest middle. The right-button chip turns this into a right click CPS test; inside the box the right button is a measured input, so no menu opens. On a phone or tablet, taps count: that is a fair test of the touchscreen path, though not of a mouse switch.
What the result means
CPS is arithmetic: clicks divided by seconds, over the whole run. There is no window trickery and no rounding up; a 5 second run divides by 5.0 even if your last click landed early.
The bounce line. If any press arrived less than 25 milliseconds after the previous release, the result says how many did and prints the rate without them. That threshold is not a guess: it sits below the fastest gap a human finger produced on our bench, so anything under it is switch mechanics. If bounce shows up here repeatedly, the double click test isolates the fault, and the button test checks the other buttons for the same wear.
Best second and the rhythm strip. The result shows your best single second and one thin bar per gap between presses, so you can see rhythm, fatigue, and the odd red bar where a bounce landed. The diagnostics fold out to show the spread of your gaps. A human hand varies from press to press; a spread near zero at a high rate is the signature of an auto clicker, which is shown as data and left for you to interpret.
Jitter, butterfly and drag clicking
The names refer to technique, not hardware. A mouse click test cannot see your hand, but the numbers carry each technique's fingerprint:
- Jitter clicking tenses the forearm so the hand vibrates onto the button. Rates in the teens are reachable; the gap strip shows an even, fast rhythm.
- Butterfly clicking alternates two fingers on one button, roughly doubling a single finger's rate.
- Drag clicking drags a fingertip across a textured button so the switch rings against its contacts. It produces very large counts, and this page is honest about what they are: switch ringing is mechanically the same thing as bounce, so the clean figure will discount much of a drag click by design. The raw count is still shown.
- An auto clicker is software, not technique; the gap spread in the diagnostics is where its regularity shows.
What counts as a good CPS?
We publish no averages we have not measured, and no percentile invented for a marketing page. Techniques differ so much, from a single finger to butterfly to drag, that a single "good" number is meaningless. The honest comparison is your own: run the same duration, same button, same technique, and watch the session best. If your rate collapses over a 10 second run, that is fatigue; if red bars appear no matter how gently you click, that is the switch, and the double click test is the next stop.

A site that does neither will happily report a worn switch as talent.
How do I click faster?
Technique moves the number more than hardware: jitter clicking and butterfly clicking are the two families most high scores use. On the hardware side, a light switch with a short reset distance helps, and a switch that has started bouncing does not, because the extra presses are not under your control. Warm up, run 5 seconds repeatedly, and watch the session best rather than any single run.
Is there a right click test?
Yes. Switch the button chip to "right" and the same run, screen and result apply to the right button. Inside the box the right button does not open a menu.
Does this upload anything?
No. The clicks are timed in your browser and nothing about your session leaves your machine. There is no account, no upload, and no server involved in the result.
